Here are some of the Questions and Answers addressed during the webinar:
1. What is the difference between Item Group specific discount and Customer group specific discount?
Ans – As discussed, item group specific discount refers to the discount offered or applied on specific items or item groups, irrespective of the customer group they are being bought from. On the other hand, customer group specific discount refers to the discounts offered or applied on specific customer groups (eg. Wholesaler) irrespective of what items are being bought.
2. Any major change in pricing model of Magento 1.X and 2.X?
Ans – As of now, there are no changes in Magento 1.X or Magento 2.X. The UI is slightly different but the configuration, the process and the way of working is the same.
3. Will Magento be able to support different prices for logged customers and guest customers as a default feature?
Ans – If you are comparing logged in customer and guest customers, you can only manage the tier pricing – this is the only default way.
4. Can period discounts be applied specifically to a few customers?
Ans – Yes, it is possible but it is not a default feature of Magento. This however comes with our extension and is very easy to manage.
5. What is tier price?
Ans – Tier price is basically a discount policy where you provide the discount on the basis of quantity bucket.
