Magento 2, One of the most awaited platforms for the eCommerce Community and is slowly revealing its secrets to the world. Initially most Magento experts thought that this new architecture has been opted to eliminate the performance issue of Magento 1.x versions especially with large set of data used by large enterprises. This is one of the possible key motivations for Magento Inc. to start the planning and development of this new platform, but as this new platform got shown to Magento Partners during several Magento Conferences or meet ups, we guess the list of requests increased and so does the platform which is gradually enhanced to meet new horizon.

Dependency Injection
Magento 2 incorporates many modern design techniques, such as full support for dependency injection, which makes customization in Magento 2 very simple for developers and agencies.
Merchants’ Migration
Even after release of Magento 2, many merchants will remain with Magento 1.x versions because migrating from Magento 1.x to 2 will be a big leap which requires additional resources. However we see the whole Magento community taking growing interest in Magento 2. As soon as the official merchant release happens, most module vendors and agencies will start focusing more on Magento 2 and less on Magento 1.x versions. So it’s expected that within 1 to 1.5 years about 50-60% of Magento users will upgrade to Magento 2. It is believed that migration cost from Magento 1.x to 2, will be much lesser than migrating from Magento 1.5 to Magento 1.9.
After the release of Magento 2, Magento 1 will be supported by Magento Inc. for 3 more years.
New Admin and Module Split
Magento 2 has a new Admin Panel design which the beta version users find out to be more user friendly. Some earlier Magento Modules are split into 2 which also expected to be handier.
Product Management
Some beta version users mention about a radical change in Product Management in Magento 2. Often merchants get confused regarding the Product Type and create a Product with wrong type. In Magento 2 you can change the product type even after creating it as some other type.
Better Indexing and Performance
No surprise here. Since inception, Magento 2 was designed to improve the performance with greater load. Keep in mind that Large Enterprises often have 200,000 or 300,000 products in offering and thousands of transactions happening per minute during season sales. So a better indexing technique to improve the performance was highly needed and which is present in the new version.
Development Risks
Developers who would like to switch from Magento 1 to Magento 2 will need to update their knowledge and ideas to efficiently work with the new architecture. This is a great chance for Developers, but also poses a risk. There might be some Magento developers comfortable on Magento 1.x versions who won’t continue with Magento 2 because of increased complexity. On the other hand, many new web development agencies will seriously start to work on Magento 2 by finding out it to be a futuristic eCommerce Platform which they can offer to their prospects.
